Daryl Barnes
Hey there! My name is Daryl.

I'm a nonbinary (any pronoun okay!) game composer & sound designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since embarking on my game audio journey in 2012, I've had the honor of composing music for award-winning games like the Timecrest series and working with world class talent.


I'm a musical storyteller.

And I strive to help my clients tell incredible stories. I specialize in music and sound that get the player emotionally invested in your game using recognizable melodies, recurring motifs, and other proven narrative scoring techniques.

When I'm not making awesome audio, I indulge in hobbies such as playing guitar (and sometimes building them), reading (talk to me about books, please!), watching anime (talk to me about anime too!), and hanging out with my smol doges and cat. I'm also developing a game of my own!

My job is to make your game sound outstanding while keeping the audio production process simple so you can focus on what you do best: making games.

Every time I start a new project, I dive in deep to learn about your game and the team behind it.

We'll work together to identify your audio needs, and come up with a foolproof-yet-flexible plan to execute your vision for the music and sound. I'll work out all the logistics, pricing, and expectations with you early on so there are no surprises later. We'll sync up regularly so you'll always be in the loop.
